THE FOURTH-ANNUAL VEUVE CLICQUOT POLO CLASSIC, LOS ANGELES RETURNS IN SUPPORT OF WILL ROGERS STATE HISTORIC PARK
More than 5,000 Angelenos Go Glam for an Afternoon of Polo and Champagne

LOS ANGELES, CA (October 6, 2012) – For the fourth year, Veuve Clicquot Champagne returned to the beautiful Will Rogers State Historic Park for a highly-anticipated polo match at the stylish Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Los Angeles. Co-hosts Rachel Zoe & Rodger Berman, Nacho Figueras & Delfina Blaquier, and President of Veuve Clicquot U.S. Vanessa Kay, welcomed more than 5,000 guests to the fourth-annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Los Angeles set on the lush park in the Pacific Palisades.

One of the most unique and highly anticipated social events of the year, the 2013 Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Los Angeles showcased the sport of polo in Los Angeles, one that thrived in the city of Angels in the 1920’s and 1930’s when there were twenty-two polo fields in the area. Will Rogers State Historic Park had long been a polo field in the county, the park strives to maintain its prestige as the heart of polo in Los Angeles. Through the stomping ground for the likes of Walt Disney, Spencer Tracy, Clark Gable and Douglas Fairbanks, and as the sole remaining annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Veuve Clicquot and Nacho Figueras are committed to keeping the sport of polo alive in Los Angeles.

“We are so proud to continue the tradition of the sport of polo in Los Angeles, and it has been an honor to watch the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic grow in size and status these past four years,” says President of Veuve Clicquot U.S. Vanessa Kay. “The 2013 event was our biggest yet, and it’s exciting for us to see the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic continue to reach new people, as well as having our repeat guests return each year to enjoy this beautiful afternoon in the park.”

The day officially kicked off with a moving rendition of the National Anthem sung by Rozzi Crane from “The Voice” and actress Ashley Madekwe threw out the ceremonial toss. Co-hosts Rachel Zoe & Rodger Berman, Nacho Figueras & Delfina Blaquier, and Vanessa Kay welcomed a glamorous crowd of polo spectators and champagne lovers including Minnie Driver, Alessandra Ambrosio, Kaley Cuoco and fiancé Ryan Sweeting, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and husband Justin Mikita, Dianna Agron and boyfriend Nick Mathers, Ashley Madekwe and husband Iddo Goldberg, Lauren Conrad and boyfriend William Tell, Mandy Moore, Ahna O’Reilly, Holland Roden, Aimee Garcia, Jessica Lowndes, Olivia Chantecaille, Katherine Power, Hillary Kerr and more.

For the first time ever, Veuve Clicquot offered access to the both sides of the polo field in an effort to give more Angelenos the opportunity to experience the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Los Angeles. In addition to general admission tickets, polo-goers were also able to purchase picnic tables in the VIP Clicquot Picnic, a chic picnic party on the shaded south side of the polo field. Guests enjoyed a gourmet four-course picnic lunch, bottles of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, and premium views of the match. Champagne bars and Nespresso coffee stations dotted the outskirts of the polo field for additional bubbly and iced and hot coffee refreshments. Adding an extra special touch for VIP Clicquot Picnic guests, Nespresso generously gave each picnic table a Maestria Limited Edition Nespresso machine as a parting gift.

Polo-spectators and champagne sippers alike were not only dazzled by the chic picnic décor and glamorous vibe, but also by the fast-paced and exciting polo match. Team Black Watch, captained by Nacho Figueras, went head-to-head with Team Nespresso in a close match.
